Playtech casinos are one of the more popular casinos that can be found online. They offer a variety of fun games that give off a real like casino feel such as roulette and poker just to name a few. Not to mention the fact that they have been in business since 1999. Currently, they have over 20 games for their players to indulge in and they also have a wide chain of online casinos that customers can play.
One of the best things that customers like about Playtech casinos is the fact that they allow you to play for free in a “fun mode” before you actually start playing for cash. The fun mode is available to help you get a feel for the way that their casinos work and also to make sure that you know the object of the game. If you are someone who has never played any online casino games before it would be best if you start off in fun mode instead of just jumping straight to the punch and spending money betting on games you have no experience in.

Many of the games that are offered through Playtech Casinos have a sign on bonus that comes equip with them as well. This means that when you start an account to play the paid games they will give you some money as well.

Currently, over 1,000 people work for this casino company. All of them make your online casino experience possible. Many of the employees are casino experts and they have played most of the casino games that are available. So, when asked to work for this company they already knew the ropes of all of the games and they also know what it is that online gamblers look for when they are trying to choose their main casino.

Overall, when you look on the internet for reviews about Playtech casinos you will see mainly good reviews. People claim that they are one of the top casinos and they really have some of the best graphics and casino playing experience that any gambler could expect.

If you’re a fan of the casino, a night of fun, high glamour and even higher stakes is probably one of your favourite nights out. However, these days you can easily recreate the experience at home, with just your laptop and a broadband connection. Online casinos are quickly becoming one of the most popular gaming experiences, with plenty of people logging on to play their favourite game, or even try out a new one before hitting the casino itself. Best of all, every game you can think of is available, as well as some you’ve possibly never heard of; here we present five of the best.

1. Roulette

One of the classics, roulette is for those who want the thrill of the casino without having to think too hard about what they are doing. The slight difference between online and everyday roulette is the absence of a table bias: since the table itself is virtual, the odds are completely random, and online roulette is the biggest game of chance available. A tip for making your odds better: choose a traditional European table with a single zero, unlike the American tables that have a zero and a double zero.

2. Poker

Poker online can be even more complicated than in real-time, meaning it should only be attempted if you’re feeling super confident about your bluffing skills. Some websites offer video poker where you can see your opponent, but if you don’t fancy that you can play anonymously. The tip with online poker is to err on the side of caution: choose definite wins over high-stakes and risky payouts to avoid any unfortunate losses.

3. Slots

Slots are the most simplistic option out there, meaning if you want to fully switch off from the world and not have to think too hard; this is the game for you. You can also tailor the slots you choose to your own personal tastes, from fruit machines to a celebrity version: there’s a game out there for everyone. A good way to maximise your winnings is to look at the game’s payout stats; a website with 95 per cent payout, for example, will give you 95 per cent of every token you put in.

4. Blackjack

Online blackjack is almost identical to the real life version, making it good for anyone who wants a familiar game. The premise is simple: you and the dealer both have two cards; your objective is to get as close as possible to 21 without going over, ideally hitting the magic number exactly. The twist is that if you both go over then the dealer still wins: make sure you think carefully about taking another hit. A tactical ‘do nothing’ can work wonders.

5. Baccarat

Baccarat is a game often over-looked by gamers in favour of the bigger card games that dominate the market. However, give it a chance and you’ll find a simple, fun game that can be played by almost anyone. Similar to blackjack, the object is to get the total of your cards as close to the number nine as possible, betting on either the player or the banker to manage it first. Totals over nine have their digits added together to produce a final number: so 15 would become six (one + five = six).

Whichever online game takes your fancy, it’s important to remember that you’re still playing a casino game and therefore the same rules still apply. Set yourself a gambling limit to ensure you don’t get carried away and research each website thoroughly to check that it’s trustworthy; there are some unscrupulous gamers out there, and you don’t want a nasty shock at the end of the game. After that, all that’s left to do is relax and enjoy the experience of the casino in your own home.

An American man with business interests in Costa Rica, who is believed to be a high roller at land casinos and is alleged to have connections with online gambling e-processing, was arrested over the weekend whilst in transit through Phoenix airport.

Federal officials revealed that the man, who was travelling from his home state of Utah to Costa Rica, was detained on allegations of mail fraud, reports the publication Vegas Inc

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Salt Lake City subsequently identified the man as Jeremy D. Johnson of St. George, Utah, who was arrested by IRS agents.

Johnson is known as a generous benefactor of charities in his home state, but last year he and his companies were sued by the Federal Trade Commission in Las Vegas in what the FTC called a nationwide $289 million Internet scam in which it was claimed that consumers were deceptively enrolled in programs to obtain government grants.

Vegas Inc recaps that as the FTC case in Las Vegas developed, it was revealed Johnson was a high-roller at several Las Vegas land casinos, at one point losing $1.35 million at the Wynn. He was also reputed to be a high stakes online poker player, losing $1.54 million between April and October last year on Full Tilt Poker, had business ties with Las Vegas e-processor Chad Elie (indicted in Black Friday’s Internet poker crackdown) and did business with SunFirst Bank in St. George, Utah, whose part owner and vice chairman, John Campos, was indicted in the same federal enforcement poker initiative.

Vegas Inc reports that a U.S. magistrate judge in Utah signed a criminal mail fraud complaint presented by Jamie Hipwell, an IRS criminal investigator assigned to the IRS’s Salt Lake City post for the Las Vegas Field Office.

In his affidavit, Hipwell alleged that Johnson – through his companies including I Works Inc. and Elite Debit – used the U.S. mail and false advertising techniques to victimise “hundreds of thousands of consumers.”

Hipwell added that besides his activities in Costa Rica, Johnson “has substantial resources in other countries including real estate holdings in Belize and the Philippines.”

In a previous Las Vegas civil lawsuit, a federal judge froze Johnson’s assets and appointed a receiver to preserve them. Attorneys appearing for Johnson last month asked the federal court to release these funds to cover Johnson’s living expenses and legal costs.

Opposing the motion, the receiver voiced serious concerns about Johnson’s compliance with the asset freeze and claimed Johnson wasn’t making his assets available for sale to cover losses suffered by consumers in the alleged Internet scam. The receiver also moved to sell some of Johnson’s assets.

Attorneys for the FTC joined the motion against Johnson’s request, noting: “Johnson’s continuous business relationship with the Vowell brothers – the brothers with whom the Johnson defendants worked to process electronic checks for the online poker entities PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.”

Records in two lawsuits allege that Johnson and Elie have done business with Utah businessmen Jason and Todd Vowell.

Johnson has been upfront about his dealings with the Vowells, on June 1st this year revealing in a court declaration: “I have had numerous business dealings with the Vowells over the last 10-plus years, one of which was that the Vowells provided money transfer services for some of Elite Debit Inc.’s clients.

“Neither the Vowells nor myself have been indicted for bank fraud, money laundering or any other illegal activity. Apparently, the FTC believes it ought to create undue prejudice through guilt by association.”

The acrimonious dispute between San Francisco online games developer Zynga and the giant internet information group Google is a thing of the past, it appears from reports in the US technical media.

Zynga, which produces vastly popular online social games like Farmville, Frontierville and Texas Holdem, is to become the cornerstone of a Google strategy that sees Google outdistancing Facebook as the site of choice for tens of millions of internet users.

Google has appointed industry veteran Mark DeLoura at a new division dubbed Google Games, which will apparently spearhead the initiative and is scheduled for launch later this year.

Tech Crunch claims that Google has invested between $100 and $200 million in Zynga as part of its Google Games build up.

PC World observed that Google now has all the pieces at hand for a run at Facebook. Its assessment notes that: The timeline functionality of Buzz, the Google Profiles personal info database, Picasa for sharing photos and now this mysterious Google Games service to keep things sticky give people who’re disgruntled with Facebook over privacy issues a new venue.

What is clearly a short term blow to the European online gambling industry, the European Court of Justice has ruled that Portugal’s state-run betting/lottery services provider, Las Santa Casa de Misericordia, is warranted to exist as a monopoly if the general public welfare is at stake and measures are being taken to prevent and fight illicit online gambling activities, including fraud and problem gambling addictions.

In direct response to the activities of leading European internet betting destination, Bwin, the ECJ case could set a precedent that online gambling trade bodies have been fighting hard to prevent. What has thus far been a pendulum battle between top European gambling operators and various EU member countries, just when things look as if state-run gambling monopolies are coming to an end, a ruling such as this keeps the battle going.

The argument of anti-gambling monopoly proponents is that EU rules require businesses to conduct trade and services openly and freely across EU member state borders, including services rendered on the internet. The monopolies, however, contend that these rules can be restricted if the public welfare is indeed at stake in regard to the services being offered. And since this is gambling we’re talking about (a dangerous and evil activity lest you forget), the monopolies claim they are the only ones fit to amply protect their citizens.

According to recent ECJ ruling, this would appear to be the case. Bwin, however, has been quick to release a statement in response to the ruling. Bwin’s co-chief executives, Manfred Bodner and Norbert Teufelberger, reiterate that online gambling applications using an IT-based medium are actually more effective at protecting online gamblers and control fraudulent activities. Citing the Codes of Conduct upheld by leading European trade bodies, the European Gaming and Betting Association and the European Sports Association, Bodner and Teufelberger rightfully argue that land-based casinos and betting operations are simply not keeping up with the growth of the internet.

Not all EU member state’s have chosen the stance of Portugal, however. Italy, France and especially Great Britain have made concessions to change legal framework allowing for cross border trade of internet betting services. The reality of the situation is that court ruling’s will not be able to fill in for online gambling regulation. If law’s are not updated, a black market will thrive and more citizens will fall prey to the potential downfalls associated with online gambling.

Considering the ECJ is the European Union’s highest court, the ruling against Bwin (which extends to their sponsorship of the Portuguese football league), is certainly a hard knock. It is the first ECJ ruling that essentially gives a gambling monopoly to extend services to the internet.
